Adwords, Advertising & BING
I recently purchased Beating Adwords which is a brilliant e-book with lots of relevant tips, tools and strategies to help you overcome the mountain of policy, guidelines, rules and competition that is Google Adwords.
Beating Adwords provides advertising nouse that you can apply anywhere really but it is specifically written to assist anyone with overcoming the obstacles that are presented by Google adwords. I found Google Adwords easy enough to navigate. That is, in terms of setting up the account, writing the ads, bidding, daily budget setting etc (and there are heaps of written and video tutorials to assist with this as well) but, the main problem was finding the keywords in a highly competitive niche.
If you are in a competitive niche, then it is more than likely that almost all of the keywords that relate to your particular product are already being used by others. By relevant product keywords, I mean the main words that are in your sales letter as well as your ad copy. So, this means that if you want to get your ad shown you will be paying a high amount for it ($1 or more per click) – until you have a proven high CTR (Click Through Rate).
So, what’s my point? It can be a whole lot easier to get an effective ad published.
There is no doubt that Google is one of the highest visited search engines which translates into high quality traffic – if you can get the ad displayed. But, and here’s the big but – there are other search engines that are dramatically on the rise that make it much easier to get an ad published.
After, three days of being baffled by the status of my ads in Google Adwords I received an email from my Wealthy Affiliate forum buddy mentioning that BING could be a very lucrative and effective alternative to Google Adwords.
Twenty minutes after the email, I had signed up to the MSN adCenter through the BING sign up , completed the account profile and had an ad displayed.
Tip for the day: Don’t give up on using Google Adwords but consider the alternatives. My next step is to advertise on Facebook. I’ll come back to Google Adwords when I have a new website in a niche other than the online business niche.
Good luck with your advertising campaigns.
