Why Blog?
There are many very knowledgeable people out there who are successful internet marketers that will know that Blogs is short for “weblogs” termed blogging by those in the know. For those of you who don’t know, this is the blog for you. I have spent some time cruising the net reading, downloading, researching and observing a number of key sites and marketing affiliates so that I too can get on the rollercoaster of internet success.
This blog will be to inform and assist all those that are in the same boat as me. I welcome all comments. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them here. I will do my best to find out the answer if I haven’t already had to cross that bridge on my own journey of discovery. It can be very frustrating trying to get your internet business up and running when you are sitting in your office on your own with no one else in the house that has a clue what your are talking about. Especially when you ask out loud “What is an FTP server?” (File transfer protocol for those that don’t know) only to be stared at with that slack jawed look and some head scratching. How can you blame them – the terminology on the internet is mind boggling for anyone who has really only utilised the world wide web to “Google it”.
So, back to the question. “Why Blog?” Well, apart from the fact that its fun and a great opportunity to express yourself, blogging can be a very profitable aspect of your business and a fantastic opportunity to find or be found by like minded people. I suppose in a way it’s an extension of social networking groups like Twitter, Facebook and MySpace and the like. Unlike a website that is generally fairly stagnant, blogs are updated regularly with new and interesting information.
Blogs can also be a very handy tool to support your business objectives and marketing strategies. You can do some very fancy stuff on your blog (I have yet to figure out how – but when I do I will certainly let you know). But, I have seen videos, audio files and much much more uploaded to blogs. People do some amazing things in their desire to publish either their life’s journey, or their most passionate feelings/opinions (that no-one else will listen to – lol) or even a pictorial journal of their big OE.
I am sure you get the picture by now if there are any other online newbies reading this. I wish that I had found a blog like this when I first started out. I am sure it would have saved me a heap of time, not to mention the chance to blab on about the frustrations of the net to someone else who was also experiencing it.

Hi Travis,
Do you have a particular interest in something? The first thing you need to do is find a niche market – generally something that you are interested in. If you have a good idea then start a blog. In the meantime though, go to clickbank.com and look at the marketplace tab to see if there are any products that you would be interested in selling. When you have done that, leave me another comment and we can go from there.
